Who's the Wandering Goldsmith?

Well, Hi - it's me. My name is Leika and I am a German goldsmith who has been living in Ireland for the last 6 years. I have a passion for the outdoors, backpacking and storytelling. This makes quite the mix when you throw in my love of handcrafting high end jewellery in my own unique designs. Stir all of that together and you have the concept of 'The Wandering Goldsmith'.

Here I am trying to create something new. Jewellery full of soul and character, where you as the customer can follow along and see what inspired those pieces. How did they come to be?

What inspires the jewellery and where can I follow?

The biggest inspiration for my designs are stories of travel and adventure, personal growth or the people I connected with along the way.

Every piece of jewellery you purchase here will come with a little story. By bringing you those stories, I hope to inspire you to fuel your hunger for adventure and connections, or to feed that part of you if you are not able to experience these things for yourself.

You can follow the adventures on the blog or via social media on Instagram or on TikTok.

Sharing really is caring. The connection with other people is precious and needs to be nourished and cherished.

And speaking of sharing - The Wandering Goldsmith is giving back. Trying not to forget the places and people who inspired all of this.

How does the Wandering Goldsmith give back?

For each collection I pick a cause that is either close to my heart or actively inspired the jewellery within that collection.

When you buy an item from the shop, 10% of the profits will be donated to the cause allocated to your chosen piece of jewellery.

This is to give back to the wild places and the people who inspired my stories and jewellery, or to help those who need it.

The question of sustainability in jewellery?

This is an important question for me. How sustainable can high end jewellery really be?

I can assure you that I am doing my best to create and make my jewellery as ethically and sustainably as possible. All my metal is recycled and all the metal waste produced in the workshop goes into this recycling circle.

The products on the website are all handmade by me in my workshop here in Ireland.

Packaging and jewellery boxes are all FSC certified and I try to cut down on plastic as much as I can.

I am always open to new ideas or input when it comes to sustainability - shoot me a message anytime.
